Palm Cove is a beach community in Far North
Queensland, Australia located 27 kilometres (17
mi) north of the city of Cairns. Palm Cove is
named after the palm trees that line the beach. At
the 2006 census, Palm Cove had a population of
1,215.
Palm Cove is only 20 minutes from Cairns city, and
has developed into a prime location for
holidaymakers, on any budget.
The beach of Palm Cove is arguably the most
pristine of all Cairns' Northern Beaches, and it
offers picnic tables and free barbeques along its
entire length. At the northern end of the beach is a
long jetty.
